Job Description

Banquet manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of an event. He is in charge of pre-event preparation including establishing the menu and the theme for the banquet, making sure the banquet area is safe and clean, supervising over food and beverage preparation and also coordinating the cleanup afterwards. His main duty is to make sure that he meets the guests' needs and expectations, and that all the banquet staff provides high quality customer services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, organize and coordinate banquets and other social events
  • Conduct pre-events meetings with the banquet staff to establish all activities and preparations
  • Establish and develop banquet menus which will meet the guests' needs
  • Consult with banquet staff and main chefs when creating the menu
  • Make sure they offer fresh food and outstanding guest services
  • Ensure compliance with food standards and hygiene policies
  • Supervise staff in performing operations within the banquet area
  • Supervise banquet servers, attendants and bartenders
  • Supervise food and beverage preparation and make sure that the area is clean and safe
  • Order and maintain supplies
  • Recruit, hire and train new employees
  • Establish good relationships with banquet staff and guests

Previous experience in coordinating and supervising a team is considered a plus.
